My Story

ANIMAL PROFILE: Kiah, Indian for new beginning, is just what this girl deserves after bouncing from one bad home to another for her first year of life. She is an approximately one year old, 50 lb spayed female German Shepherd. Despite her rough beginning she is eager to learn to trust and show her goofy, playful side. She is being fostered with Double Down Dog Training and we will share more info as we get to know her in foster care. FOSTER UPDATE: Kiah is a typical energetic GSD youngster that bonds quickly to her person. She loves to play tug and fetch. She is extremely affectionate and loooves her evening massages. She is really good in the crate, walks well on a leash, and knows basic commands including a really solid recall. Kiah is truly the epitome of a people pleaser but also has some mild uncertainty when first being introduced to newcomers and will get barky if they are too forward with her right off the bat, so a human that understands that dogs like this just need to feel advocated for is going to be her best match. She is dog friendly with proper introductions and currently living with two other GSD's (one male and one female) as well as two other mixed breed dogs. She does well with dogs of all sizes but can be a lot of dog for the lazy ones or small dogs that can not hold their own space. She can and will respect the dogs space but needs a human that will require that of her. Adopter Profile: Large breed experience required Single family residence required Other balanced dogs OK Dog savvy cats OK Dog savvy children considered on case by case basis Adoption Info: Kiah's adoption fee is $550 which includes her spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, fecal test and microchip with lifetime registration. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Bothell PD reached out to DGS and we accepted her to foster care on February 15, 2024.
