Keeley is a beautiful, soft dog recently rescued from a high kill shelter. We think she is a mix of Icelandic or Shetland Sheepdog and Golden Retriever, but what she really resembles is a sweet little fox. The shelter contacted us after noticing that Keeley was very shy and stayed back in the corner of her cage, frightened and worried about what was happening to her. She was a bit timid for the first few hours in her foster home, but within no time at all she was running, playing, and laying her head on her foster mom's lap.
Keeley gets along very well with the other dogs in her foster home, but seems to prefer dogs her size or larger. She is quiet and calm (unless she sees a squirrel), and loves to go for walks. She is very affectionate, and loves to be petted and hugged. One of her favorite indoor games is chasing the beam of a flashlight - she will do it for hours! Keeley is about 2 years old, 42 lbs, spayed, up to date on her shots, housetrained, microchipped, and heartworm negative. Her foster family leaves her free in the house while they are at work and she is perfectly behaved.
Keeley is looking for permanent family that will keep her safe and out of the shelter for the rest of her life. If you would like to be that family, please fill out an application today!
