My Story

Kayla is a sweet, female, Norwegian Elkhound mix who was uncerimously dumped at Yuba County Animal Care Services by her uncaring owner. Although she came in with another dog who was adopted right away, she waited almost a month to find her own forever home but when it looked like that wouldn't happen and she was literally down to hours, the Elkhound Club came to her rescue. Kayla showed her true personality when they knelt down to pet her; she practically turned herself inside out to get petted. For them, she was pretty hard to resist. On the way to her foster home, she did remarkably well with all the new and different things she went through. For an hour, she rode crated in a car without whining or barking and then settled into a 4 x 6 pen for an hour until a vet could give her an exam, heartworm test (she's negative), fecal test and shots. When finally arriving at her foster home, she did well with the other dogs and quickly settled in after the obligatory sniffing and posturing by all. At 7 or 8 years old, they say she's pretty bouncy with a definitely wonderful personality. So we're wondering..... how can you resist.
