My Story
Hi there, I’m Katie Kittyn but you can just call me Katie! My foster mom says I’m a goofy and sweet lady who will make your heart melt with my snuggles and kisses. I’m a 2yr old Dutch shepherd mix, 50#, spayed, heartworm negative. I love to have my play time throughout my day, but I also enjoy a good nap and snuggle on the couch. Ideally I would love to have a yard but I do fine with my foster mom giving me long walks throughout the day.
Some great things about me: I love all people, I’m potty trained and crate trained, dog friendly and I’m a super sweet snuggler that will make a great best friend. Despite my name, I wouldn’t do well in a home with cats, they’re just not for me.
If you’re looking for a loyal, active, best friend and you’re willing to give me your love, I’d love to meet you!

If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt
**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).
The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.
2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250
For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq

*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
