My Story

Kane is a big Anatolian Shepherd Dog mix who has not seen the best of life. Previously an outdoor stray he spent his life running the streets and fending for himself. He is now learning to enjoy house life and all the good things that people bring. Though scared of so many things in the house he plods along behind his owner tentatively trying things out.... stairs, carpeting, tile floor, etc. This poor guy has seen some abuse. At the first raise of a voice or a hand he hits the ground expecting to be in trouble. As he gets more comfortable we see more bursts of puppy...he likes to run around the yard, likes to chew on toys (especially rope toys), and is learning to love going on walks. He adores the other dogs and would do so well in a home with another dog to follow the ropes. He is good with older kids as well. Kane needs a home willing to help bring him out of his shell and show him the good life. We see the confident happy puppy lurking beneath the scared surface and every day he gains more confidence. He is going to be a BIG boy, he's already about 60 lbs and 6-7 months old. For obvious reasons, all animals adopted from Homeward Bound MUST live indoors only. This dog has been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and tested for heartworm and lyme disease.
