My Story

Joe is a 2 year old male Boston Terrier. He weights about 30 lbs, is neutered, current on all vaccinations and is taking monthly heart worm preventative. He is very playful, full of energy, loves to play fetch and go for walks. Joe is an indoor dog and is house trained and kennel trained. He can sit, lay down, and stay. He is currently in a home with 1 other dog and they do well together, so it is believed that he probably would be fine with other dogs. A fenced yard is a must; he likes to be outside to play, if it is not too hot. He should be placed in a home with older or no children for he can be a little jumpy, but with some training this could be broken. Unfortunately Joe’s owner’s life situation does not allow them to keep him and he deserves a loving home. Joe is an independent rescue supported by DogsOnly, so he will not be available to meet every Saturday except for holiday weekends at the DogsOnly adoption showing at Petco on Chenal Parkway across from Target and Home Depot. To learn more about Joe you can send an email directly to his owners at [email protected] or complete an online adoption application by clicking the orange colored links at the top or bottom of Joe’s official bio page located at www.dogsonly.org/594pop.html. We always try and answer all emails within 24 hours. All of our young and adult dogs require a 2 week home visit before finalizing the adoption process. This is to help ensure it is a good match for all involved without making a final commitment. An adoption fee is charged for Joe’s adoption. Puppies are not available to go on home visits. All of our rescues are in private homes and not available to be visited outside of showing times. All DogsOnly volunteer fosters work with our rescues to ensure they are crate trained and most are also housetrained. Only one of the DogsOnly foster families have cats so we can only make our best guess as to how our rescues would do with cats. We rescue from high kill shelters and once accepted into our Independent, none of our rescues are euthanized. We provide for all their vet care, socialization and training until an appropriate home can be found. An adoption fee is usually involved which helps to cover the cost of medical care and vaccinations. DogsOnly relies solely on donations and are a 501(c)3 private Humane Society. Our mission is to rescue dogs that most other groups are not interested in due to their size, breed, age, health or other various reasons. This does not mean that there is something wrong with any of our rescued companions, it just means we help the ones others tend to leave behind. Thank you for your interest in rescue and in saving the life of a dog. Every day in the United States, 11,000 dogs die. Why Buy When You Can Save? Save a Rescued Dog. If you don't find that special companion you are looking for in the DogsOnly rescue, rehabilitation, and re-home Independent then please visit Last Chance Arkansas or one of the many other central Arkansas rescue organizations to save a rescued canine companion.
