Jobey - AD 9/08

September 2008 Update: Jobey has been a delight to foster. Every morning I come downstairs there is Jobey around the corner looking for me. You see Jobey is VERY hard of hearing so doesn't track things well. The look on his face when he realizes I am behind him is priceless! He is a precious boy!!! Jobey continues to do 3 steps up into the house but we think that is his max. He cannot get into and out of a car without help so needs someone able to lift him. Jobey may not be the most mobile guy available but there will never be a gentler, kinder soul. We love having him here. UPDATE: Jobey has been doing SO WELL!!! He now can do 3 steps to get in and out!!! He needs a little encouragement but it's become functional for him! It's hard to write about Jobey without getting emotional. He is such a sweet, sweet soul who is so deserving of a comfortable "retirement". He is at least 11 yrs old and about 80 lbs. Jobey was adopted from a shelter about 4 yrs ago. Unfortunately his family could not provide him the care he needed and made the very hard decision to surrender him to SGRR. They loved Jobey and it shows. He comes with all the typical "warts" of age - creaky hips that don't always do their job, lumps, bumps, aches and pains...but is doing really well right now on Rimadyl and has so much love to give. He is a typical Golden - enjoys company and is as easy as can be. He may need a hand from time to time negotiating steps - but outside on the grass you'd hardly know this old boy has any kind of arthritis! He is currently enjoying a fenced yard in his foster home where he strolls the grounds at his leisure. And in typical Golden fashion, he prefers the company of his person. He is wonderful with other dogs as well. Jobey is a gentle, kind and special Golden who will make a dedicated companion. Please consider making him part of your family. You won't regret it.
