My Story

Jitterbug is about 2 years old in these pictures taken January 17, 2009. The pictures do not do her justice as they do not show her personality. Jitterbug was very nervous with all the dogs was barking and meeting new people the first time. This is why we think she didn’t take the best of pictures. We will try to get more when the weather is better.

Jitterbug was found by our director, along with another dog, frozen with fear on the yellow line of a very busy highway. The director jumped out and scooped them both up and put them in her van. Both dogs were so happy to be rescued. They rode great in the van.

We have found Jitterbug to be very loving and sweet. She loves to sleep in bed with our director and her husband. Jitterbug is a great size to be a lap baby which is good as she likes to be one. JB enjoys playing with all the other dogs and going for walks. She does have a little problem going outside to do her business when it is cold so she has to be pushed out. Hey, who can really blame her? It is cold out there. We tested her with cats and she just sniffed and walked away. Jitterbug does have one flaw and that is that she can climb a chain link fence. The family that adopts her must have a privacy fence.

A SIDE NOTE to Jitterbug's story: The other dog that Jitterbug was found with was claimed by his owner but the man did not want JB back saying that he had found her himself a while back. That they had keep JB outside with the other dog and would really like to see her find a home where she could be inside out of the cold. This is why we are trying to find her a new home. We could tell that Jitterbug and the other dog had become very close and feel so sad for him.

UPDATE - February 14, 2009
Jitterbug went to the Cupid and Canines event at Camp Bow Wow in Bentonville. She had so much fun meeting all the people and running around the play yards with the other dogs. Jitterbug especially enjoyed playing with London, a Lab mix, every chance she had. Everyone fell in love with her.
