This sweet girl is safely in Michigan after finding herself on the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter in Houston Texas. She was on that list ONLY because they ran out of kennels and needed more space. Since hitching her freedom ride out of the Texas shelter, she has been here at our facility showing off her amazing personality! EVERYONE who has met her here (volunteers) has fallen in love and we all wish we could adopt her ourselves! Jewels, aka “Big Momma”, is super sweet, Mellow, Potty trained, Great on a leash, and an absolute LOVE BUG! She has done very well with other dogs here, although we recommend a forever home with a docile/submissive male dog for best longterm results! Jewels also loves ALL humans she meets, including kids! She is projected to be about 2-3yrs old, she is fixed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped. Jewels does need to undergo Heartworm treatment, but no worries! We will pay for the entire treatment and schedule everything around your timeline, all you will have to do is administer oral meds 2x a day for 30 days, and get her to 3 vet appointments at our vet in Holland Michigan. If that schedule sounds like too much, we do offer a version of heartworm treatment called “Slow-Kill”, that wouldn’t require traveling back to our vet, but it does take longer to treat this way.
