Jetta is a beautiful dog - long, wavy black hair, bright eyes with a brain to match. This athletic, intelligent young lady is looking for an owner to explore the world with. Jetta can be a little shy with new people just at first, but it doesn't take her long to acclimatize and love getting pets.
Jetta is affectionate and attentive. She is a country girl originally, so sometimes loud traffic and unusual city things still give her reason to pause, but she quickly recovers and carries on her way...give her a few days and she'll be totally up to speed. She knows sit, down, shake a paw and walks pretty nicely on leash too, so she's had some training somewhere along the way! She gives very gentle, sweet little kisses and truly is a remarkably lovely dog.
She seems to LOVE other dogs too, and once tried to jump a short fence so she could go play with the neighbouring shelter dog. She'd probably do very well as a second canine companion in a home, or with someone who likes to hit the parks and beaches around this area where other dogs play.
We are unsure how she would be with cats, being a herding breed, as she was VERY curious of the "test cat", but not necessarily aggressive towards it. She "may " be able to live with a calm, dog savvy cat with proper introductions and supervision. She probably would not do well with a flightly cat that likes to run away.
Please be advised that our dogs are strays, so we do not have any background history on them. To meet any of the dogs, please visit the Vancouver Animal Shelter (VAS) at 1280 Raymur Avenue in Vancouver, or call 604-871-6888.
