My Story

12/10/09 - Jessi should be in Whitehouse Station, NJ by Sat., she is being returned for not getting along well w/ a male Irish in her current home. My name is Jessica Lynn-Jessie for short. My Foster Mom wanted to give me an Irish name but decided to let my adoptive family do that if they want. My former family had to surrender me to an SPCA due to financial reasons. I am spayed, microchipped, heartworm/lyme negative, house and crate trained and up to date on all my vaccinations! I am getting along great with my foster brothers and sister who are all Irish Setters. I ride fine in the car in a crate and had no problem getting a bath and having my nails trimmed. I guess the only thing I'm not too good at is sometimes jumping up on you if I want to play or get excited. My Foster-Mom says 'NO!' before I jump so I decide not to do it. She says that I will be beautiful when I gain some weight. My coat is shiny and deep mahogany. I sleep all night in a crate or by your side. I do not chew and am learning to play with my dog friends and toys. Thank you for reading about me and I hope you may be the family to give me my forever home Her birthdate is 3/25/08 and she looks younger than that. She is very sweet and will be a beauty when she fills out! She is spayed, vaccines are being updated prior to adoption. Her owners both lost their jobs and she was turned into a PA shelter. Super friendly she's housed in a kennel with a boxer and a mix breed. She is good with dogs and cats. Her biggest issue is she jumps on people and needs some leash manners. Once you talk to her and pet her she quiets down. She is spayed and microchipped. Owner reports house trained & crate trained but spends most time outside. An application, vet reference, home visit and a drive to NJ a must to meet our dogs! Adoption fee required. To find out more about the Irish Setter breed, click here. To adopt, please submit an Adoption Application.

Every dog in rescue is placed spayed/neutered and current on their shots. They are screened for temperment and we do our best to place the right dog in the right home. We require all rescue dogs be house dogs. Irish Setters do not do well being outside only dogs. If the dog does not work out, it must be returned to Irish Setter Rescue. Adoption fees range for an older dog, could be as low as $200 to as much as $350 for a younger dog. Our average adoption fees are $350 for up to age 1 year, $300 from 1 - 3 years, $250 age 4 - 6 years and $200 for age 7 - 9. Any age 10 or older we are just so happy that someone is able to provide them a forever loving home. We try to get our vet bills covered with the adoption fees.
