Jasper

****JASPER HAS BEEN ADOPTED AND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE**** Jasper is a 10-11 year old, purebred, sable merle, male sheltie. He has one brown eye and one blue eye, and a very unique and beautiful grey and silver merle pattern on the back of both ears. Jasper has a very calm and sweet manner. He's friendly but not hyper and listens very well. This guy would make a great therapy dog and would likely pass the Canine Good Citizen test with flying colors. He would also make the perfect companion for an older, more laid-back household. Jasper seems to be fine with other dogs, cats, and children. He's a little on the heavy side but is on a strict diet to help bring that under control. Jasper hopes his age won't keep him from finding a wonderful forever home -- he really is the perfect gentleman and just wants someone to love him. Jasper also has elbow dysplasia in both front legs, so he walks with a slight limp. This birth defect could have been 100% corrected when he was younger but his former family never had the problem diagnosed. The elbows are now both fused and surgery will not correct the problem. He still gets around great and doesn't realize anything is wrong with him. This condition, however, means that his weight needs to be kept in check and he needs to stay on supplements to help ward off arthritis. Jasper has many more years of unconditional love to give to some lucky person. Could that be you? Japser's adoption fee is $100.00 (which includes all vaccinations and tests, neuter, dental, bloodwork, x-rays, and microchip). We strive to place our shelties in the best possible home for them, which means we reserve the right to turn down any applicant if we feel they are not a good match for the sheltie they want.
