Good in a home with
Jasper was the victim of domestic abuse. His guardian had to move out of the house because she was being physically assaulted by her husband and she had no place to put her dog. Because the husband was also attacking the dog, leaving him in the home was not an option. Altho we are already full, in order to keep the dog safe we agreed to take him into our care.
Jasper is a beautiful 3 year old guy who just wants to please. He really does want to please so he is pretty easy to train. He is great with kids and enjoys their company during our adoption events. He runs and plays in the yard with the other fosters but does protect his toys and bones when they are around. He is a very loving boy - I don't think he got much in the way of affection in his previous home. He came to us absolutely filthy and he smelled pretty bad. I don't think they ever bathed him and it showed. The poor guy had to endure a bath using a cold hose at 11 PM at nite because he was just too stinky to keep in the house. While he fussed a bit over the water - he submitted and felt (and smelled) MUCH better afterwards. Now he likes me to bury my face in his fur (which I can do now) while I scratch him all over.
Jasper is now vetted which should have been done since his former owner works for a vet!!! He was a big hit at the vet's office during his surgery. Everyone fussed over him because of his super friendly demeanor. If you are looking for a happy goofball - check this guy out. He is wary around the larger dogs tho and doesn't seem to be real comfortable in their presence. He is fine with the small - medium guys tho and loves romping in the yard with them. Because he wasn't allowed in the house he does have accidents if not taken out frequently so it might be best if he goes to a home where someone is there most of the day to get him on a routine schedule.

There is an adoption fee if you decide to take one of our "All Star Pets" home. We prefer homes within a 50 mile radius of Linden, NJ.
