My Story

This fantastic girl is Jasmine!

She's a six year old rottie who gets along with everyone.

Here's what Jasmine's foster family had to say about her:

She likes rawhide bones to chew, she loves to play tug of war, chew toys, milk bones, to go for walks, rides in the car and lots of loves and kisses. She loves to play outside and run around with her toys and kids. She is house trained, she likes to sit on the furniture but will get down if told to. She sits and lays down on command ( most of the time). She is very playful and a big love. She occasionally forgets how big she is and thinks she is a lap dog when she wants her loves.

She doesn’t like to have her feet front feet poked, (no aggression shown) she just doesn’t like it. She is shy around tall people at first and will pull her head away from being petted, but warms up quickly if you get down to her level. She begs for food but with a stern NO and an occasional tap on the nose as a reminder she backs down and stops. (we are working on that a lot) She gets into food/garbage cans if left out. She will chew up Kleenex if left in open garbage can and she will drink out of the toilet if the lid is left open. ICK! She tries to get out the front door occasionally when someone leaves but if she is told to get back and stay she is fine. She got out once and came right back when called. She went right over to the car, I think she just wanted to go for a ride too.

She shows no food aggression at all, I have taken bones away from her while she was chewing on them, I have gone up to her and stuck my hand in her food bowl while she was eating and she is fine. She shares food well with Suki, they do not competition eat. I have not seen any aggression from her at all other then the occasional I WANT more attention when Suki is getting attention, but it really isn’t aggression it is pushing her out of the way so she can get in. There have been no fights. She gets along very well with other dogs and children (she does like to herd Suki around) but she is a good girl.

Adoption Process: We are not first come first served. Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. We deliver all dogs to their new homes.

All of our dogs are in foster homes. We have adoption events at the Beaverton PetSmart every other Saturday where you can meet many of our dogs at once. Click Here for our Calendar of Events. Or, if you're interested in a particular dog, you can send an e-mail via the e-mail link at the bottom of the page ("Email adoption organization") with answers to the questions below. If the dog seems compatible with your situation we'll set up a time for you to meet the dog.

Do you have other pets now? (briefly describe)

Have you had pets in the past? What became of them?

What kind of exercise will you provide for the dog? (type/frequency)

What is your schedule like? How long/often will the dog be alone?

Where will the dog be while you're gone? Where will the dog be when you're home? Where will the dog sleep?

Who else lives in the home? Do you have children? How old are the children?

Are you in a home or apartment? How long have you lived there? Do you have a fully, securely fenced yard? (type/height)

Do you own or rent your home?

What changes in your life are likely in the next 10+ years (or life span of the dog) and how will the changes affect the dog? (moving, job or schedule change, school, having children)

Anything else you'd like us to consider in finding the right dog for your family?

Thank you for your interest in adopting and saving a life!

Indigo Rescue only adopts to homes within 50 miles of Portland.
