My Story

10/11 UPDATE: Jacques has turned into a wonderful little fellow. He is still around 8-9 pounds, cute as a button and a wonderful lap warmer! He loves people-attention! This breed is hypo-allergenic, meaning that they have HAIR instead of FUR. This means that they are good for people who are allergic to most dogs. :-) He's turned into a pretty "happy go lucky" fella! <->

You can meet this dog at our mobile adoption this Saturday. We'll be at healthwize for pets, 157 Fillmore Street, corner of Waller, (RAIN OR SHINE!). Please email with any questions or visit http://www.wonderdogrescue.org to see photos/bios of our other dogs.

Don't miss our Halloween Party and Animal Costume Contest on Sunday, October 21, from 1-4pm. Furry, feather and scaly creatures are invited to participate in the contest. Bring a photo of your costumed critter if he or she cant make a personal appearance! Sliding scale at the door, $5-100, with proceeds going to Wonder Dog Rescue's medical fund... have fun and help secure care for rescued dogs!

For those people interested in Day of the Dead/Dia de los Muertos, the Animal House (formerly Healthwize for Pets) and Wonder Dog Rescue invite you to participate in a Community Animal Altar. The altar, designed by Michael Roman, will be installed at the store, 157 Fillmore Street, from October 8 through November 11th.

Dia de los Muertos (November 2) celebrates the bond we share with those who are departed. We invite you to bring photos or memorabilia of your beloved companion animals to place on the altar. A candlelight rememberance will be held on Friday November 2 at 6pm, prior to the procession in the Mission.

Jacques is such a GREAT dog, So ready for a home to call his own!

Please email with any questions or visit www.wonderdogrescue.org to see more photos and bios, and to fill out the application to adopt. See you this weekend!.

This sweet little fella was rescued from the Tracy shelter. Nobody knew what he was, other than a possible poodle mix... he had a long, dirty, completely matted coat.

thanks to our trusty groomer he's looking much nicer now! He had to have the coat stripped off. Jacques is under two years of age. He has his adult teeth in, but a few of his deciduous (baby) teeth are still there too. He is learning to trust and relax... and that he does NOT have to live outdoors!

He's ready for a loving home! If interested please visit www.wonderdogrescue.org and complete the application to adopt. thanks!
