My Story

Jackson (04-070) is a big, happy, 3 year-old male basset with intense eyes, cute freckles on his nose, and a regal bearing. He was with one owner his entire life before being turned over to BHRG, and it's clear he had the run of the house. He's a shameless food thief and is strong enough to jump up on the bed and grab anything near the edge of the counter. He will even take the food right off of your plate! When he first came into foster care, he was extremely food-aggressive and territorial. With love and training, he's becoming more well-mannered but is still a very lively boy who would do better in a home with one or two other dogs (as opposed to the 6 in his foster home!) as he needs and wants a LOT of attention. He loves to play hard with his rope toy or his now-shredded blanket, particularly at night. He needs a home where he'll get lots of love and firm guidance. He tips the scales at about 72 pounds and is extremely STRONG but he's a lovable boy from nose to tail For more photos and for information on adopting this dog, please visit http://www.bhrg.org.
