Jackey

Jackey's awesome foster Dad JD wrote the following: "Jackey is a young four year old Am Staff/Mastiff mix. He is a very energetic dog with a shining dark brown coat and enthusiastic personality. Jackey is a playful dog who is always keen to fetch the ball, play with a calm, positive and optimum energy level. He loves his daily routine and expresses his desire for long routine walks and drives with his beautiful big eyes. Currently at his foster home, with consistent training and positive reinforcement, Jackey’s leash manners have improved substantially and make him good company for evening walks. He is a quick learner and is well trained on basic commands. He is house trained and is socially well adapted to adjust with other dogs of various size, age and breeds. As a foster family, we treat him with love and teach him discipline to ensure he doesn't get over-excited in any circumstance e.g at the time of playing with other dogs/ humans, while having his meals, when meeting new people/ dogs etc. It is really fun to see him play around with other dogs and yet obedient from the pack to follow the command given by us. He is very responsive and picks up new commands/ learning quickly which makes the training process complete joy. This behavior inculcates him with love and time and therefore it is not recreated by few treats, but only can be nurtured and maintained in the same fashion to bring the best out of him. He looks like a real macho dog yet he is a very young domestic, adaptable lovely dog who can complete the picture perfect for one the most loving and caring family. Most of the instances, he is much more relaxed and well behaved around new people or dogs during his dog park walks, he greets them calmly and sits politely. We are thrilled with his progress! After being with him for this while, we are absolutely proud of his excellent mannerism and obedience as per the family rule. Jackey is a shining example of the benefits of consistent training and positive reinforcement. With the right leadership, consistency and directions, he is a perfect companion who can make your family fulfilled with love and joy." SCTW rescued Jackey after he was placed on the euthanasia list.
