My Story

Jack is a year and a half old and we think he could be a Silky Terrier / Doxie mix... He weighs 16 pounds and came to us with a pink mohawk... his owner could just no longer care for him. He will grow in a nice coat with a proper diet and regular grooming. He is a great little dog that loves everyone and actually "smiles" at you - though it is a bit hard to catch on camera - you'll just have to come and meet him for yourself!

Please email for an application as this dog can be seen by appointment only.

INFORMATION THAT YOU MIGHT LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT IF YOU ARE THINKING ABOUT ADOPTING A SMALL MALE DOG:

There is a great training aid called a belly band, which is really great!
Here is a video by G.W. Little to watch that shows them in action:

HERE ARE OTHER PLACE TO PURCHASE THEM:
Male No-Leak Wrap (Dr. Fosters and Smith)

Essentially, you put the belly band on your little guy while he's supervised in the house and take it off when you take him outside for a potty trip.

We do not recommend leaving any dog unattended with any kind of clothing on - belly bands are training aids that need supervision and a commitment of your time.

If he hikes his leg inside the house, he soon finds he is just peeing on himself... you then change the pad and put the band back on him. Of course, you'll need to take it off him for trips outside to the bathroom on a regular basis to train him to the proper place to relieve himself.

We have had great success with them... We had a terrible little leg hiker, and it only took a few days of training with a belly band and he started eliminating outside and was happy just marking the trees.

A belly band is also great for going to visit friends and not worrying about any accidents.
