My Story

Hey there! I am in Calgary from Mexico! I am a Golden Retriever/Collie x who is about 40 lbs and 5-years-old.

I am an easy going boy and, I don't mean to be a showoff, but my foster mom tells me I am wonderful! I am happy being wherever my person is and I am always checking on my foster mom's son. It was said that I am bad with cats, but really, I just try to play with them and don't realize I scare them! I am best friends with my foster mom's dog, and as you can see in the picture, love to play with him! My foster mom's son adores me, and the feeling is mutual! I am so careful with him and he can even take away my food dish, toys and bones and I do not react at all! I am fairly energetic, but do tire out, as my hip does bother me after long periods of activity (being hit by a car gave me a little limp, but it hardly bothers me at all!). I love to run along trails with my foster mom and her dog. I am even housetrained!

*Update from new foster*

Jack is super easy-going. Most of the day he'll just hang out and play with his chew toys. He loves chew toys. We have been training him a little, and he now sits well, and is walking quite nicely on a leash. He responds well at the off-leash park, as well. He seems to be good with other dogs. Sometimes he's a bit hesitant about a new dog, but a couple of times I've seen him play like a puppy--he just needs the right friend.

Jack is very well crate trained, and has no problem spending a few hours alone. He will let you know when he needs to go outside without barking or scratching. When Jack was in Mexico he was hit by a car. This has left him with a little bit of a limp, but most of the time it's hardly noticeable. When he first wakes in the morning, sometimes his leg is a little stiff, but with a bit of walking around it disappears almost completely.

Jack will make a wonderful companion for the right family. Maybe that's you!
