Hello there, I’m Jace! Being a curious, adventuresome young guy -- I’m just 1 ½ years old -- I managed to get myself lost out in the rural wilderness. I love people, but no one came for me. Thank goodness Safe Harbor came to my rescue just in the nick of time!
Everyone’s just getting acquainted with me, but I can tell you I love all my dog and people pals at doggie daycare. I’m crate trained and take treats as gently as a lamb. The volunteer who took me to the vet for my check up (you’ll be glad to know I’m hale, hearty and weigh 64 pounds) was impressed with my car manners. She gave me a wink and said I was extremely cute and made great eye contact too. Good thing I’m covered with a jet black coat or she’d have seen me blush!
One thing you should know about me is that I’m very athletic and social and need a tall (as in 7 foot wood) fence or an Invisible fence. I think I was left all alone outside too much before I was rescued, got mighty bored and kind of got in the habit of looking for my own fun. If your living accommodations are such you‘d always take me out on a leash, that would be fine too. With loads of attention and exercise I don’t think it will take long to realize my forever home is where I really want to be!
