Huxley - meet this sweet big boy!

Meet Huxley! This sweet handsome 2 year old fellow is in need of a new home, through no fault of his own. When adopted as a puppy, Huxley's life was filled with long hikes and adventure; however, that has changed since a new small human arrived a few months ago and mom's time is now taken up with other obligations. Though Huxley loves his baby, sadly, mom is no longer able to provide the regular exercise and attention that an active big boy like him needs . Huxley a hound mix, weighing in at 85 pounds. He is a smart boy and is very well behaved in the house. He knows all the basic commands, rings a bell to go out and will sit and waits at the door. He's good with cats and great with other dogs of all sizes. He has taken to warning mom of "stranger - danger" when visitors come to the door. He shows no aggression, but does tend to jump on people and needs some training to redirect that behavior. He is not a big fan of car rides, but LOVES long walks and hikes.. Huxley's mom loves him is very sad at the thought of giving up this sweet boy, but she believe he will ultimately be happier in a home with an active person who can provide those nice long fun hikes and the attention that he grew up experiencing. Huxley is neutered, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations.
