HUNTER
Falmouth, Maine
My name is Hunter - I am 7 years young and weigh approximately 65-70 lbs.
I have had a pretty good life. Up until a year ago I was part of a wonderful family that loved me very much. I lived happily with two humans, my canine sister, Raven and a bunch of cats.
People tell me I look like a cross between a Greyhound and a Dutch Shepherd. I am not sure what that means - but I know I am a very handsome guy.
Anyway - back to my story...My family lost their home and they no longer had a place for me or my sister - so they took us back to the shelter we came from. Shelter life was okay - but nothing like having my own human and couch. I am a family dog - not a shelter dog.
My sister found a new home pretty quickly - but they did not want me. I do not know why - I am very charming and well behaved. I really miss my sister.
I lived at the shelter for a year - it was out in the middle of nowhere - so not many people came to visit us dogs. Finally - a nice woman came along and told me that I had been at the shelter long enough and she was going to spring me from my cell.
I knew as soon as she walked in that she was there for me. I sat down in my kennel and just stared at her car while she made arrangements for my bail.
The woman put me in her car and took me to someplace she called a foster home. That is where I live right now. It is really awesome!
My foster family cannot believe how well mannered I am. I am trying really hard to be good. I never have accidents in the house and I do not chew things when left alone. I am really good boy.
I let my foster people pet me for awhile each day and then I go off to nap on the couch or my foster mom's bed.
Don't get me wrong - I am not an old man - I just like my naps! It has been awhile since I had a soft bed to sleep on and I am taking advantage of it.
Other than napping - my favorite things to do are going for car rides and taking long walks.
I LOVE the car. I sit really still in my seat and look out the window. I am an excellent passenger.
Today I walked all the way around Mackworth Island without even breathing hard. I wanted to go again - but the human I was with said it was too cold. Weanie. I could walk forever if you would let me.
I am a very friendly boy and love to meet new people - I made several new friends on my walk today - and they did not even know they needed a four legged friend until I introduced myself.
I love to explore the woods - and tend to follow my nose in the process - so my humans say that I need to be walked on leash or have a fenced yard to run in.
Anyway - that is all about me - what about you? Are you looking for a loving but not overbearing best friend? Do you like taking long walks in the woods and taking drives in the car?
If so? Why not send my humans an email ([email protected]) and let them know you are the one for me! You could not ask for a better friend.
Thanks for listening
- Hunter
