Two year old Hunter is a quite a big hit here at Safe Harbor and at doggie daycare where he's playing and swimming away the warm days!!
Nancy, one of our long time volunteers and an experienced Lab owner relates:
"Hunter is a big, happy boy! He's around 95 pounds and could stand to lose a few pounds. But, what an absolutely, beautiful, happy, open, smiling face. Makes and holds great eye contact. Takes treats gently. Knows all his commands: wait (waited patiently in his crate while I leashed him up), sit, stay, down. He hopped right into the crate and rode like a champ.
"He is so settled for a young lab. And, so well adjusted for a dog who spent the majority of his time outside. He was either sleeping or playing with toys during the transport. He was ever so patient and sweet with another little young Lab who kept pestering him.
"His previous owner says he loves the water and to be hosed down in the summertime. He needs a Gentle Leader for walking. Once inside the vet clinic for his check up, he sat patiently with me waiting for a Tech. When she came and said "hi" to him, he presented his paw for shaking; not once but twice! I was so impressed with him. He is wonderful!! "
With a report like this, how can you resist Hunter, such a handsome boy with a terrific Lab personality!
