Humphrey is a purebred English Setter, born around January, 2009. Humphrey is one of 29 hunting dogs removed from a breeder in Erskine, MN on June 29, 2009. He was emaciated, had bad diarrhea, and was covered in feces. If you would like to see pics of what Humphrey looked like when he came in, please email a request & I'll email the pics to you.
Humphrey is a sweetheart who has been well socialized. He is great with other dogs & people of all ages. He loves to play!
Due to the costs of rehabilitating these dogs & gathering evidence and documentation for charges against the breeder, we are charging $250 as an adoption fee. This is the "break-even" point for us, and definitely a bargain for a purebred hunting dog.
The breeder has been charged with 29 counts of animal cruelty. The pre-trial hearing is 9 a.m. on Sept. 29, 2009 at the Polk County courthouse in Crookston, MN.
