On June 30, Huayro spent a doggie-day-out with a volunteer. Here is what the volunteer had to say about this cutie:
Is it a dachshund? Is it a lab? Who knows? It's Huayro!
We had the honor of taking Huayro (pronounced "why-row"; named after a type of potato) for a Dog's Day Out so she could get a break from the shelter. She has been at the shelter for over 200 days and is more than ready for her forever home. She was a bit shy at first, but quickly warmed up and opened up. She walked well on leash and had a very sweet, curious demeanor. She enjoyed time out in the grass where she could just be a playful puppy running around and chasing after toys. She is probably a prime candidate for agility since she loves to leap in the air to catch toys. She also loved getting pets. We think she would do well in a home where her humans will spend time showing her the world and letting her blossom.
So, why not Huayro? She will make an amazing friend.
