My Story
Hi, I'm Howie! My foster mom says I'm sweet and cuddly, but a super energetic little guy!
I love going for walks, lots of playing, and right now, lots of puppy chewing. I love all people, old or young, would love to live with a family with children to play with, and maybe even a doggy sibling for me to play with, but I'm probably going to grow up to be a big guy so keep that in mind! I love to play with the resident dog here, and have got along well with every dog I've met! I haven't met any cats yet, but I think we could chill together. Everyone who meets me falls in love, which works out great for me because I love the attention!
Being a puppy, I am still working on some of my basic commands, but I have "sit" nailed, I'm getting better and better at "down" when my foster mom doesn't want me on something or someone, and I usually know that when my foster mom whistles for me, I'm supposed to come to her! I'm told that I have very good manners, just have to be reminded of them sometimes. My foster dad has been working hard on getting me to understand fetch, and sometimes I totally get it and we have a lot of fun running back and forth after the ball! I do need lots of exercise so I would love it if my new family was very active and liked to take me out a lot.
I do very well in my crate at night, or when home alone, or even just when I get a little too wound up and need some chill time. I go into my crate voluntarily, and often my foster mom gives me a kong with peanut butter, or a fluffle mat with treats and I chill out. My potty training has also come a long way. I still have the occasional accident in the house, often after getting really wound up with the resident dog, but for the most part, as long as I'm let out regularly, I am doing very well!
I'm looking forward to finding the perfect match for me and getting settled into my furever home!
