Houdini

Meet Houdini! This handsome boy came to Apollo after running the streets for a few weeks and showing up on our neighbors land. He was very scared but once our staff caught him he agreed to jump in the car. Houdini is a sweet boy, is around 65 pounds, and we estimate he is around 2 years old. He has been very trusting with everyone at the rescue. Houdini will need a patient family that will give him time to adjust and gain trust. The first couple of days he tried to crawl out and escape but as time has passed he is more comfortable. Houdini will need a home with a tall wooden fence, no chain link because he can crawl over. He will need to be leashed walked, even in the backyard, for a few weeks until he relaxes and feels safe. He can be territorial with his food so he should be fed separately. Training once he trusts his owners would be great for him as well. He has been friendly with dogs at the facility, but would need slow, proper introductions with other dogs in the home. Houdini is located at our facility in Justin, TX. Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided.
