My Story

Meet Hotdog! Hotdog is a sweet 10yr old girl. When we got word this perfect pups time was running out after serving months in the shelter, we couldn't let her story end there. Hot dog has a bad heart (will require life long heart medications) but that shouldn't mean a death sentence. We believe she is possibly a dashhound and corgi mix. She has done well in her foster home with other senior dogs. Was a little grumbly when they were in her space when she first arrived which she no longer does. She is separated at eating time since she had a maternal instincts when she first arrived but joins the crowd during snack time with no issues. She also has a bit of herding instincts, don't be surprised if you get a nudge in the back of the ankle or a charge at the vacuum. She will calm down if brought to her attention. Hotdog is vocal. If you prefer a quiet dog, Hotdog will disapprove of this and bark or howl if she wants to. She can sit before meals, will let you reach out for a shake paw, and will let you handle her easily for medical care and bathing. She enjoys walks and will put herself in a pen at night for bedroom. She will even answer to Veggie dog, or Veggie Hotdog for plant based parents. Absolutely no cats. She is reactive every time she sees one.
