AVAILABLE NOW Shelter staff and volunteers adoringly refer to Hope as "portly," "a whale," and a "hippo." Sure, she has some pounds to lose, (she currently weighs 61 pounds) but she is just the loveliest, stocky lady we know. Hope appears to be a 1–2-year-old English bulldog mix and she has the back rolls to prove it. She is quite an animated lady when she first meets you and then she quickly returns to her favorite pastime, lounging. Hope has had some positive companion walks with other dogs, but we believe that she would do best in a home being the only animal and with no kids. Hope is very easy to handle on the leash. She keeps getting overlooked for no good reason at all. We think Hope would be the perfect companion to escape the heat with this summer. She loves air conditioning! Hope was found on Lake Hope Drive, Nelsonville. Meeting dogs is by appointment only. Please call the shelter (740/593-5415) to make an appointment. All adopters must bring in kids and other dogs in the household for a meet and greet before adoption. Adoption fees are $125 ($65 for dogs 7 years old and older) and include dog license, basic vaccinations, heartworm test on adult dogs, and spay or neuter (ARRIVED 4/21/24).
