My Story

Hooch is a Fawn Boxer with 4 White Socks, a handsome Boxer face and a wonderful personality.
Hooch a very muscular body.
How this boy ever ended up in a shelter is beyond us. Hooch is one of the nicest Boxers we have ever met! Hooch is a house dog who loves his warm sweater on cold days and life inside.

Hooch's winning personality is what kept him alive in the high kill shelter where he was rescued.
He has some medical needs for the injured leg. Hooch will be given the medical care he needs for his leg.
Many thanks to a kind lady who was willing to go the extra several hundred miles half way to bring Hooch to safety with Canine Shelter Rescue.

Hooch enjoyed his ride to freedom and wanted to be his new foster mom's "lap dog" on the last miles home.....Hooch is much too large to be a "car lap dog"! He settled down in the passenger seat and went back to sleep.

Hooch seems to like his new warm sweater. With no body fat the sweater is a warm new found "friend" for his thin body. He likes to snuggle down in his warm house and rest and sleep recharging himself for times to run and explore his new surroundings and of course be ready to play!
Hooch reminds us of a Short Stop on a baseball team. He loves to run and catch a ball in mid-air or when he picks it up on a roll, Hooch does not miss a step. Hooch loves to play ball better than anything else. When he goes outside the first thing he does after going "potty" is to find his ball. Hooch will always bring the ball back so it can be thrown again.

Hooch is friendly with other dogs and loves to play, especially with people. He will jump straight up in the air with a finger snap. He will also jump up and make a 180 degree turn before he lands....looking quite proud of himself!
Hooch has the Boxer kidney shape wiggle down to perfection. He loves to stand up on his back legs and "Box" with delight when he knows he has pleased his new mom. This is a very special Boxer boy!
This boy walks well on lead without pulling. He is Neutered and we believe Hooch may be house trained. Hooch is not a barker though he will let you know if there is something he feels you need to be aware of, as any good dog should.

If you love the Boxer breed and want to adopt a wonderful boy full of zest for his new found freedom, then Hooch may be right for you.
Hooch will only be adopted as a valued inside family member.

UPDATE: March 1st, 2007
Hoochs Right back leg is being treated to try to correct a problem from and old broken leg that was not given medical treatment.Poor Hooch must have has awful pain in that broken leg. The bone was broken into several pieces and it has healed into a knotted mass of bone. This leg is shorter than the other one. A fact that doesn't stop Hooch in the least. He runs and jumps and plays with the best of his friends!

There is a problem with the way the bones knit together. There is a channel deep inside the leg that has been draining to the outside near his ankle.
Hooch has been on a strong Antibiotic for 4 weeks and will be on it for at least 4 more weeks.
The drainage has slowed and we are encouraged that Hooch's leg might heal.

Through all of this Hooch is showing himself to be the finest of dogs. He remains happy and playful and very sweet! Hooch will make a wonderful addition to his new family.
