Honey is a beautiful 3-year old female (possible) Pit Bull Terrier/Hound/Labrador Retriever mix who was brought to the HSOV on February 17, 2024 by a Good Samaritan who found her on Waterford Road (near Lang Farm Road) in the Marietta Ohio area.
Honey has a tan short smooth coat, a long tail, and a lovely face with pale brown eyes, a liver-colored nose, and short floppy ears.
This young lady was understandably nervous about being in an unfamiliar place with so many other dogs and people that she didn't yet realize were her new best friends, so we took her preliminary photos in her blanket-filled kennel where she felt most at ease ... And they were cute pictures.
We were thrilled to be able to take outdoor photos of Honey on February 23rd when she was ready to put on her happy face and accompany HSOV Kennel Tech Kathryn (Kat) Rea for glamour pictures. What a difference those few days made in Honey's demeanor .. Honey was more at ease with Kat by her side, and she responded well to Kat's slow, gentle touch. Honey was walking fairly well on a leash that afternoon.
Honey weighs 42 lbs.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Honey was held for three days so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership. Sadly, nobody called or came looking for this beautiful girl.
Honey will be spayed in the near future and will be looking for a fabulous home.
