My Story

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Meet Honey Bee! Honey Bee is a beautiful, gentle soul. You can tell she’s had a rough start to life as she’s timid around humans and is hoping for a family who will be patient with her and allow her the time she needs to warm up. We promise she’ll be worth it! Honey Bee was saved from the euthanasia list at a high kill shelter down in San Antonio, TX. She is currently 2 years old and weighs 49 pounds. Honey Bee ADORES other dogs and would love to have another confident dog in her forever home. She currently lives with 4 dogs and enjoys being part of a pack. Her confidence really shines around other dogs. Honey Bee has the most unique look to her! It’s almost as if she has a shar-pei head and a pointer body. Either way, she’s as cute as can be. Honey Bee is extremely sweet, loving and gentle. She’s potty trained and adores my dogs. She loves to play chase and wrestle in the yard. She’s fine with our dog savvy cat. Honey Bee would love a home with calm, older kids who are able to respect her space. She’s easy in terms of doing her own thing and would make a great dog for someone who is looking for a companion for their dog. She’s very shy and would prefer to hang out around the house versus going out on adventures. She’s more shy when you’re standing, but will happily come over and lay on the couch with you if you’re sitting down. It’s the sweetest thing to have her nuzzle her head against you while you’re watching tv. Honey Bee loves treats and is fully potty trained! We leave her out to free roam while we’re away for work and errands and she does well with this. She’s extremely treat motivated and this is the key to winning her over. She’ll happily sit for treats too. Honey Bee’s ideal home is a calm, quiet home with at least one confident dog in the home. She gets startled by sudden movements and looks to the other dogs in the home for her confidence. She sleeps quietly in our bed all night and will even crawl up for snuggles. Honey Bee has made tremendous progress and with the right family, she will truly blossom into an amazing dog! ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her?
