Honeybear Update:
Honeybear certainly seems to prefer women as her object of affection. She is very loving, loyal and devoted. She is constantly underfoot - her big head bumping your arm to fall around her neck! She follows like a shadow - never leaves your side but to eat - she loves food - (so she is already on a diet to watch her weight!!)
HoneyBear is responding well to her treatment for a severe uterine infection and will be spayed as soon as her treatment for demodex is complete. Most of her coat has come back and she is very shiny. She has an excellent appetite - she weighs a hefty 96 pounds! But she thinks she is a lap dog.
Honeybear is a super affectionate, loving and very devoted companion. If you don't mind an underfoot buddy then Honeybear is your perfect companion. She is never more than 3 feet away. She is looking for a forever family to love.
Honeybear's Story from the beginning:
Honey is a black and tan, 2 year old spayed female Rottie Shar-pei mix. Honey will need a long rehabilitation before she is ready for a new home. Honey is suffering from neglect after she started her condition of Demodex. Demodex is a skin condition that is inherited from the mother. Untreated and neglected dogs suffer from secondary skin infections as well as the mites. Their immune systems cannot fight the infections and they lose their hair, have oozing sores, fever and itching. Honey is being treated with ivermectin, antibiotics and soothing baths to help the itching. She will need immune boosters, good food and lots of water (she was very dehydrated when she arrived and just kin and bones) and lots of TLC. She enjoys lying on the bed – she has comfort for the first time in her short life.
Honey is Hero’s mother!! Honey has a wonderful temperament – a quiet, loving sweetheart of a dog. Although fevered and itchy she accepts her treatments with a lick of thanks. Honey will be an absolute treasure for a lucky family. Honey will be spayed and vaccinated before adoption as soon as she is well enough for the surgery.
Pets can be flown to new homes. Application and homecheck required for all homes, the dog will go to the best home to for the dog. To find out more please contact Turtle Gardens at:
