Meet Honey!
Are you looking for a furry companion to bring joy, love, and energy into your home? Look no further! Honey is a 2-3-year-old golden-colored Pittie mix with a heart full of love and a zest for life. At 48 lbs, she's the perfect size to cuddle up with on the couch or accompany you on outdoor adventures. Honey is a social butterfly who adores people and is always ready to shower you with affection. Honey is a medium to high-energy pup who's always up for a good play session or a long walk. However, when it's time to relax, she's remarkably chill in her crate and content to entertain herself with her tough toys and Benebone. Her house and crate training are top-notch, making her a well-mannered lady when left alone. This charming girl gets along well with other dogs and enjoys their company, but she can be a little protective of her food and toys. To ensure everyone's happiness, she should be fed separately and given toys only in her crate. Alternatively, she'd thrive as the only dog in the household, basking in all the attention and love. In her foster home, Honey has shown no interest in bothering cats, and her sweet and affectionate nature makes her a hit with people of all ages. She's a breeze to take out and about, excelling on walks and greeting new friends with a wagging tail. Honey is adaptable and would be a fantastic companion for outings to patios, breweries, and beyond.
If you're ready to open your heart and home to a loving, loyal companion, Honey might be the perfect match for you. Complete an adoption application at rarerescue.org to meet her and experience the joy she brings firsthand! Adopt Honey and make a forever friend for life.

We understand that it is important to you to find the right fit for your family. We feel the same way! The DOG ADOPTION INTEREST FORM is important and REQUIRED for this reason.
All of our Adoptables are:
Spayed/neutered; Up to date on vaccines; Heartworm tested if six months or older (& kept on heartworm preventative and treated for heartworms if positive when entering our program): Microchipped prior to adoption
BREEDS: We are not breed experts. The breed(s) listed for each adoptable are best guesses or suggestions.
PLEASE NOTE: We are a non-profit organization without municipal or government funding. Veterinary/Medical expenses are constant for an animal rescue. Our adoption fees not only help to provide vetting and care for the animal being adopted, but they also help to cover heartworm treatments and other treatable ailments that many animals, that would otherwise be euthanized, need in order to be made available for adoption.
Please understand that adopting an animal is a LIFETIME COMMITMENT to that animal and there will be veterinary expenses throughout their life that can often cost several hundreds, if not thousands of dollars (without pet insurance), especially without annual checkups and preventative care. As a potential family for this pet you are responsible for their safety and that includes keeping them on your property.
***If you are not in the middle Tennessee area, transport can potentially be arranged to approved homes, depending on distance and local adaptability. We normally do not allow adoptions outside of 1.5 hours driving distance.
