Sweet Honey originally joined MHCR back in May 2023 as a young pup with her whole life ahead of her. She was adopted into a loving family where she quickly became a cherished family member. Due to the time Honey spent in a shelter environment as a young pup, she had some fears and skittish behavior when meeting new people. While out on a walk in her apartment complex, Honey snapped at the leg of a maintenance worker who startled her. While she didn’t break skin, the landlord’s policy on bites was not flexible and her family was forced to return her. Honey is a dog friendly girl weighing around 40-45 lbs. She melts into the tiniest of spaces when cuddling with her humans and adored her human kiddo sibling. She’s house trained and crate trained and walks well on a leash, too. Her surrender was heartbreaking for not only her, but her family as well. We are so hopeful for Honey that she will know that kind of love from a family again. Honey would do best in a household that doesn’t have a lot of people coming and going. It will take her some time to warm up and a companion dog may help with that, but isn’t required in her forever home. She’s only a year old now and smart as a whip with quite a bit of training under her belt. Honey is available for fostering or adoption.
Honey is being fostered in Aurora, Colorado.
