My Story

Sweet as Honey! This beautiful golden lady would love nothing more than to be your fur-ever friend! Honey found her way into our care after she was found wondering the neighborhood up north of BC. While getting to know her, we have discovered that she is very affectionate, intelligent and cuddly! She is also a fantastic singer and loves to warm up her vocals with regular howling sessions. When you pet her, she will nuzzle herself into your hands and give you lots of cute little kisses all over your arms and face! Sweetie-pie Honey knows the command for "sit," and she is eager to learn a lot more with an owner experienced in dog training. Honey is house trained and will politely wait until you take her outside for a potty-break. She loves the outdoors, but her strong eagerness to explore the world does make her pull hard on the leash, so she'll need an owner who's willing to work on leash training with her. She is also quite prey-driven and selectively reactive to wildlife. Darling Honey has shown that she can be friendly with other dogs. She may be good in a home with other dogs, but this will have to be determined during their initial meet-and-greet. She is very social and playful and she loves people! However her future home will have to have NO children under the age of 13. She will require a patient guardian, who is willing to work with her and provide training on basic commands. She is also quite picky with treats! Please follow these steps if interested in adoption! 1. View the animal's profile at adopt.spca.bc.ca 2. Submit an application https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-sunshine-coast/ 3. If it's a match, staff will contact you to set up an appointment for a meet & greet. 4. Live happily fur-ever after! *Side note: the more you add to your application (the last question) about you and what you are looking for in a canine companion, the better we can match animals with adopters! PLEASE NOTE: This dog is located on the Sunshine Coast and travel via BC Ferries is required to adopt. Appointments are preferred to adopt one of our animals. Please speak with shelter staff prior to visiting our branch. Primary Color: Red Brown Weight: 35.8kg Age: 1yrs 2mths 1wks Animal has been Spayed
