My Story

Say hello to Hobbs, a three-legged Shepherd mix. Don't let his missing back left leg fool you, it doesn't slow him down one bit. He is around 4 years old and 50 pounds. He came to STS as a stray from Lawrence County and had a previous leg injury, most likely from being hit by a car. Our vets agreed that amputation was his best option for a healthier life, and his surgery went forward on May 6. Within a couple of weeks he was back to his normal self. He is a very loving boy and always wants pets and belly rubs. He is a bit shy when first meeting someone but warms up quickly. He is crate trained and potty trained, and gets along with other dogs and kids. He may have been abused previously and gets scared by quick movements and yelling. He is also scared of the leash, and needs some work walking on the leash. But he is the sweetest boy. His foster dad came real close to foster failing (keeping his own foster ). Hobbs will make some family extremely happy. He has not been cat tested. Apply for Hobbs now at www.stopthesuffering.org
