Hippo

Hippo is a male 7 year old Pit Bull Terrier who weighs 53 lbs. Hippo is the sweetest soul. He hasn't had the best life and is learning to trust people again. Hippo keeps a perfectly clean kennel and does great outside. He enjoys exploring and a fenced yard would be amazing, but it is not required. He is a chill guy who just loves some head pats. Due to his past, he does have some resource guarding right now, so he needs an adult only home. He has not been around dogs while with us, but I would assume he would do okay as long as fed separately. He enjoys bones but has not shown much interest in toys. He enjoys lounging on the sofa. Right now, hippo does best when he is able to approach people on his terms, so he needs a patient and understanding adopter who will help him realize not all people are cruel. He has already grown so much with a short time with us. His minimum adoption fee is $195 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
