My Story
My foster writes:
Hestia is truly like her namesake - a goddess of your hearth and home. She'll plop down in the middle of action and your heart. A professional lounge lizard, she loves laying in her bed, not furniture. She's rarely left alone since I work at home and happily snoozes most of the day away next to me with the occasional bark when something particularly captures her attention. Hestia is crate-trained. However, she's rarely in her crate because she's so reliably house-trained and doesn't get into anything she's not supposed to when left alone. You'll occasionally catch her gazing at her reflection in full-length mirrors, and your heart will melt even more. If and when she pulls on the leash, she is very strong, so you need a firm grip. She's a timid girl at first meeting men, full trash bags, and people sitting/laying around on the streets. Through reinforcement and reassurance, she can move along past the concern. She doesn't show signs of much socialization with other dogs, so her curiosity and desire to say hi can be high. With redirection, so does move on, though. She's slow to warm up to newcomers to her space. She is reliably fearful of men upon first meeting. With lots of treats and patience, she does warm up over time. With ladies, she's quicker to be at ease and show her true, loving self. Hestia knows "sit" and will do it on her own when she thinks a treat is forthcoming. She's a very smart, trainable girl who, in a loving environment, will thrive and be the love of your life and home.
What my friends at ACC say about me:
My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!
It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.
I am excitable and energetic! I will need positive outlets for my energy!

A Volunteer Wrote: If you're looking for a sunny, sweet pup who happily rests her head in your lap and closes her eyes with contentment while you pet her, Hestia is your next amazing companion! We cannot say enough about this dog, who came in as a stray and was noted to be timid but has transformed into a girl who is nothing but tender. She's in a pop up kennel in the hallway but she's stoic about the conditions, keeping her cage pristine no matter how long she waits between walks. She has shown zero reactivity to other dogs, walks beautifully on a leash, adores absolutely everyone, and makes our hearts so very happy when we are with her. Hestia is beautiful inside and out, and will make the most glorious life companion! Primary Color: Tan Weight: 57.8lbs Age: 2yrs 3mths 3wks
