My Story

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Hershey, 3 years old, spayed female, Pitbull Terrier/Bulldog mix, 42 pounds. She is in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and can transport out of State once an adopter is approved. This pint size pup was found wandering around the streets of Houston. Her amazing foster mom found her and took her home. Hershey is a sweet dog who loves nothing more than being with her people, relaxing on the couch. She is housebroken and does well when crated. We have no history with cats. It has taken some time for Hershey to acclimate with the other dogs in the foster home. She is forward in her play- putting her front legs on the other dog, trying to initiate play. She would do great as the only dog. If there is another dog in the home, she needs a well balanced dog who will not react to her playstyle. She has really made great strides in her socialization with other dogs. She is playful and very curious, Hershey enjoys going for walks, exploring her surroundings without pulling on the leash. Despite her short stature, she has a mighty presence and will alert you with a good bark when someone is at the door. She is VERY affectionate and loving. Hershey gets excited and sometimes gets the zoomies, so a yard is ideal for her to burn off extra energy. She is afraid of loud noises such as fireworks and thunderstorms. Hershey is good with kids and has had a positive interaction with a 9-year-old boy. Ultimately, Hershey would love to find her forever home where she can receive the attention she deserves and get comfortable in a permanent environment. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. *** Interested in applying to adopt her?
