Hershel

Meet Hershel, a 76 lbs lap dog with a love for adventure and a mind eager to learn! This Dutch Shepherd mix is a favorite among our volunteers for outings and training sessions. Hershel already knows "sit" and "come" and is excited to keep adding new tricks to his repertoire. He enjoys playing tug of war, exploring on walks, and discovering new sights, smells, and sounds. Hershel has a striking black and brown brindle coat that requires regular brushing, which he enjoys. Despite his size, Hershel believes he's a lap dog and loves giving kisses. He's great on a leash, even during jogs, and makes frequent check-in eye contact once he's burned off some energy. Hershel's encounters with other dogs show he could be placed with a well-matched dog friend who can help him understand dog body language better. This not-so-shy boy loves the water and insists on getting into the river during park visits.
