Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html ***************** It was Hermey's lucky day when a volunteer, who was picking up another dog from a shelter, was informed that Hermey had hours to live so she rescued him too! Hermey is estimated to be about 4-5 years old. His former foster family has many great things to say about him. He has moderate energy while walking nicely on a leash (though he is a hound and, as such, surrenders to desires to sniff at times) and would make a good hiking companion. He likes to explore, play and run for a couple hours during the day, but will be happy sleeping the rest of the time. He has some basic obedience including sit, stay, come and look (for his eyes to be on his handler when encountering dogs during his walks as he does not like other dogs) and behaves calmly when crated. Hermey is house trained and can be left alone at home, outside of the crate for half a day. He is also a rare hound that does not frequently bark. If he has a space where he feels safe and comfortable, you will rarely hear him peep. His fondness of treats motivates him to be very responsive with training which makes him eager to please. He enjoyed being the shadow of his foster family because he liked to be where they were. Hermey's former foster family affectionately describe him as a derpy, clumsy boy who would love a home with a fenced yard as he relishes time laying in the yard on nice days. **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to [email protected].
