Are you experienced with behavioral dogs and ready for your next project? My name is Henry and I am a 12 pound, 9 year old male Chihuahua mix looking for my forever home. I am a lovable little guy that enjoys cuddling up in my comfy bed and going for nice walks. I am looking for an experienced handler who understands that I sometimes have boundaries and can at times be content as an independent pup. My favorite activities include playing with squeaky toys, getting pets, cuddling up in my comfy bed, and sunbathing in the dirt. I do have some behaviors that will need to be worked on. I tend to resource guard my valuable toys and food, however this isn't a common occurrence and I do show signs when I am going to do so. Because of this I cannot go home with other dogs or kids! The staff here does believe I can maybe live with another dog with management and an experienced handler. I was cat tested here at the shelter and did well! My preferred home environment would be the less people, the better; meaning a single person or possibly a couple. I do lean towards woman, however there has been men who have handled me, so I may just be selective when it comes to the people I love. On the bright side, I love to play with toys and I do get playful with my people! I enjoy going on mini adventures and am very treat motivated, so I will do almost anything for a tasty snack. I am potty trained, as well as crate trained in a home! The people here say I love cuddles, however on my own terms. I have more of a lower energy activity level and am happy just having some play time in the yard, and then am ready to relax in my doggy bed.
