Henry

Handsome Henry is available for adoption. He was found wandering around a campground and as the shelter was over capacity, we took him in as a foster. He was dirty, drooling and scared and had to be carried. He really bonded with our visiting 16-year-old grandson who let him know that the leash was good! Henry soon began to feel safe, and it was love at first sight with our dog! Play, play, zoomie. Play more, rest up and play more. He has not had a single accident in the house and does not seem to know a stranger. He interacted nicely with a child at the shelter during his short time there in the office and he has made friends with the neighbor dogs as well. He is so sweet and loves to be with us all the time including bedtime, snuggles in the bed before he moves to his big pillow on the floor then back in the morning for a visit. Morning routine: snuggles, outside to potty, inside for breakfast, later a leash walk for him to go potty and back inside. A fenced yard is highly recommended. Henry and my dog got in a bit of trouble when left alone. Now we put them on the deck and have dog proofed it. Ceiling fans and a big water bowl plus chew toys are there. He loves to chew. Stuffies and toilet paper rolls have a been killed so it is the heavy duty chewies for Henry! Henry is neutered and current on immunizations. He is HW negative and housebroken. He will guard his food at mealtime, so he needs to be fed separately. He shares his toys and space with humans. If he were smaller, he would be a lap dog. He settles for putting his head and paws in your lap, snuggling in bed with you and lying down beside your chair. He has a LOT of thick fur but likes being brushed and is ok with his bath and nail trim, too. I think he would especially love to have a home with another dog since he is young and loves to play.
