My Story

Please read our adoption policies BEFORE inquiring to adopt a pet. If you wish to meet a pet shown here, please submit a letter of introduction via email to [email protected] describing the home you can provide. Please include such things as if you own or rent and what type of fencing you have. If no fencing include acreage. Also describe other pets and children in the home . Check your spam folder for replies. Keep in mind, we are two women with full time jobs, we volunteer to run this Rescue and foster these dogs in our homes. We have families and farms of our own we take care of as well. We will give you all the time we can but, ask for your patience and attention to detail to make the application process flow smoothly and as quickly as possible. This sweet dog was dumped. Kicked out of a pickup (witnessed by someone) out in the country on May 9. He and another were left to fend this cruel life on their own. Somehow they split up and this one followed the railroad tracks to town where he has been playing cat and mouse for nearly 3 months with a Good Samaritan who has been feeding him. Once caught it was discovered he was not feral, just scared. He was covered in ticks. The Good Samaritan took him to the vet where he received all of his shots and treated for the ticks. We have just neutered and microchipped him and he's ready to find a forever home. I’m calling him Henry after Henry Alden from the Boxcar Children. We estimate Henry to be about two years old. Henry is a woman's dog. Little kids scare him. Henry is fully house trained, uses the dog door, respects a fence and not a barker. He doesn't seem to notice our cat and is only mildly interested in the parrot. He gets along with all of the other dogs and never goes very far away from his foster mom who he bonded very quickly to. He loves to ride in a car. His "sit" command is phenomenal. He flips around and sits his rear end on your foot and faces away from you. He looks up at you and waits for what's next. He's obviously been very well trained. He would be up for any sort of outdoor adventure. Henry will be the most loyal and faithful dog you've ever had.
