My Story

Introducing a heart-stealer: Henry, our lovable male Boston Terrier (weighing in at 23 lbs) fresh from rescue and now at National Mill Dog Rescue, eagerly awaiting a place to call home. With his sweet, slightly shy demeanor, he's sure to tug at your heartstrings. We'll be sharing glimpses of his endearing personality soon, so keep your eyes peeled! Ready to welcome this brave soul into your life? Begin your journey together by filling out an adoption application at nmdr.org. Embark on this heartwarming adventure and discover the joy of giving this deserving dog a loving home. - - - - - Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
