Please only apply if you are ready to take home your new pet quickly. Meet Henry! Through no fault of his own, Henry is being surrendered. He was rescued from a high kill shelter about 2 years ago when he was 1. Through many efforts of his adoptive family, training classes and work with a behaviorist, Henry just needs to be in a home without young children and without other pets for his safety and the safety of the other pets/kiddos. Henry is right about 3 years old and approximately 45 pounds! This boy LOVES to play - rope toys and balls are his favorite...though he will get excited and puncture just about any ball he’s given! Now plush toys on the other hand, he makes sure to shred them as quickly as possible. Henry is fantastic on a leash, and loves to run and go on long long walks. He’s never hiked but we think he’d love it. In the summer he would prefer to be outside in the sun on a run so he can run around freely and sunbathe. He is nervous of any and all precipitation and changes in the weather, he will hide and shake but always accepts being carried to the couch and cuddled while his anxiety settles. As far as food, Henry likes pedigree dry food with a banana, but loves to be treated with some warm chicken and rice on occasion, and is a big fan of the green dental treats! Those are his favorite! He’s not the biggest fan of car rides but will tolerate it if need be. He should also not be trusted off a leash, he will bolt without hesitation. He is house trained and has minimal actual accidents, but if he feels threatened or anything by us humans he will pee on demand. Henry has a little anxiety and we think he will do best in a calm home as the only pet. All of our animals are fully vetted before going to their furever homes. They are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, dewormed, up to date on flea/tick prevention, heartworm prevention, and microchipped! Please Note: All animals are posted until they are officially adopted. This animal may have other interested adopters in line. We are very quick to respond and process applications! You will be required to provide 2 non family personal references, a home video tour and a vet reference if you’ve previously had animals. Please feel free to send video to our email or facebook upon submitting an application, this lets us know you are serious and ready but also helps us to get you approved quickly. We will text and or call upon receiving your application to schedule a phone interview. You must be an approved adopter in order to go on meet and greets. This saves everyone’s time- especially our gracious foster families! This also allows for you to take the animals home from the meet and greet if you so choose. Interested in fostering?
