My Story

Location: Mitchell, SD Hello! My name is Henrietta, a.k.a. Hen or Hennessy. I'm betting the first thing you noticed are my eyes. My foster mama says I have the prettiest eyes. You may have also noticed that I'm missing something. Due to my physical condition coming into Rescue Network, my leg needed to be amputated (done on 6/19). I'm still healing, but let me tell you missing a leg doesn't slow me down one bit! I do well on the stairs coming in and outside of the house, but a full flight of stairs is definitely a lot of work for me. I have such a fun, outgoing, goofy personality. My ears flop funny ways and sometimes my lip gets stuck on my teeth. I'm a lover through and through and just want to show everyone what a good girl I am. I am 100% potty trained! I am very good about going outside and doing my business right away. I also do very well in a kennel. Give me a treat and I will go right in for you. I know some of the simple commands such as sit and down, however, I am still pretty young that I am working on holding those commands and learning new things as well. I am very intelligent and food motivated. I cannot wait to learn more! I am not food or toy aggressive at all. Sharing is caring! One thing my foster family has notice is sometimes when I'm licking them out of excitement it sometimes turns into little love nibbles. We are working on this and do well when I'm corrected. I enjoy toys, bones and playing. I love to chew on a bone or runaway from my brother with a stuffy in my mouth. Tug a war is also really fun too!! I'm not really allowed to play much due to me recovering but I sure realllllly want too! My foster family has four resident dogs, plus another foster and myself. The first night in the home I did some low growls through the divider, but after that, I haven't had an issue since. I have three big dog siblings and two wiener dog siblings, and I like them all. My foster brother who is a Cane Corso has been my best friend since coming here! We really like to chase each other around and play tug-of-war. I am still puppy - I am medium to high energy at this time so would do well with another dog in the home or a family who is active that can keep me mentally stimulated. I have not been around cats, so I don't know whether or not I'd be willing to co exist or chase. She doesn't really seem to have much drive of chasing small animals though (we have a lot of bunnies and squirrels at our place). Whether you're a first-time dog owner or already have furry babies of your own, I am a perfect girl that can fit in anywhere! You can't go wrong with me being already potty trained and kennel trained - so the worst part is done. I'm ready to find a home where I can be a dog that is loved and cared for and is able to spend lots of time with my humans! ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.
