Hazel is currently heartworm positive and undergoing treatment. Her recovery progress is going well under veterinary care, and she will need a loving family committed to helping her through her treatment and recovery journey. Despite her health challenges, Hazel is a ray of sunshine! She is incredibly playful and has a special fondness for toys. Hazel knows her basic commands such as sit, shake, and down, showcasing her intelligence and eagerness to learn. Her playful nature extends to other dogs, although she can be quite mouthy during play, so she would do best with canine companions who can match her energy. We recommend a home with older children, preferably 8 years old and up, who can engage with Hazel in a positive and understanding manner. We would also recommend a home without cats, due to her very high energy level and rough play. Hazel's new family should be ready to continue her training and provide her with the exercise and mental stimulation she needs to thrive. With her striking hazel eyes and affectionate personality, Hazel has so much love to give to the right family.
