My Story

7-28-2024: Guinness is a sweet little havanese that was adopted from LWDR several months ago. He is was returned to LWDR through no fault of his own. He is a very quiet and shy guy that loves to take walks and does really well on a leash. He enjoys running in the backyard so a fence is a requirement. He is looking for a home that will continue to work through his fears and being shy. He would love a family with another dog that he could play with. He is doing great with his foster fur friends. He enjoys playing with toys and even knows stop and sit. He is a cuddle bug and enjoys couch time. Guinness would love to have a home to cherish and be spoiled. Are you that home? He is ready for his new family anytime. Guinness the Havanese was released from a commercial breeder on St. Patrick's Day, and with his coloring the name just fit! He is a 10 month of Havanese who is being fostered in eastern Nebraska. Guinness is really getting the hang of potty training, thanks to the examples set by his foster's resident dogs. He's getting along with the resident dogs, but he is quite shy/skittish around humans at this point. He will do best in a home without very small children. He would prefer a home with another dog to play with, and who can teach him the ropes of being a dog. A fenced yard is a plus, because he loves to run and play with the dogs in the yard at his foster home, but not truly a requirement if he's leashed when outside. Guiness will be available for adoption once he is caught up on his shots, neutered, and microchipped on Friday, March 22nd. His adoption fee is $500.
